The Zone Aviation Yacht Club is back for the summer. For those that are not familiar, Zone Aviation has a boat docked at the Copper Kettle Marina in Lorain, just north of the airport, and it is available for rental for a very reasonable rate The boat is a 23’ Bayliner Ciera Express hardtop. It is a newer well equipped boat, with a GPS/Chartplotter, fish finder, stereo, bathroom and galley. It can comfortably seat 6 or 7 people. It is perfect for fishing, running out to the islands, or just enjoying the summer on the lake. To rent the boat there is a one-time per season fee of $250 to be listed on the insurance plus a $50/hr wet rate billed off the hobbs, just like the aircraft. So while you are fishing or relaxing, the boat isn’t costing you anything! The wet rate is enough to cover fuel and dockage/maintenance expenses. If there is interest, we would also consider adding a pair of jet skis to the package as well.
If you have never boated before, this would be a good way to learn if it may be something you are interested in. An instructor will be available to teach new boaters how to handle the boat, use the navigation equipment and of course, how to dock the boat. At minimum a quick check out will be required for the boat if you have no prior boating experience. Also if you were born after 1982, the state of Ohio requires a free online boating safety course to be completed online at WWW.BOATUS.ORG
